About Mbeya

Mbeya is a non-denominational Christian ministry that raises up and sends out native ministers in Africa for the purpose of bringing the good news to unreached people.

We believe the most effective way to get the Gospel into hard-to-reach places is through equipped native ministers who know the language and understand the culture.

Therefore, we have a ministry school in the northern region of Malawi that equips indigenous believers and sends them out to establish communities of Christ-followers among their own people.

The foundational doctrinal beliefs we teach and adhere to can be found here: The Nicene Creed

Our ministry of raising up and sending out native ministers involves three core components: Prayer, Education and Evangelism

Prayer is foundational for raising up and sending out native ministers.

In San Diego, California, we host regular intercessory prayer meetings for Africa, our students, our ministry, and the world’s unreached.

If you are interested in receiving information about these prayer meetings, please contact us.

We encourage ministry partners outside San Diego to link up and pray for our students and the world’s lost. If you are interested in hosting a prayer group, please contact us and we will be happy to connect with you.

College for missions

Some of our students leave everything behind – families, jobs, villages – for the sake of being equipped and sent out to the unreached.

Each student is supported and prayed for by a sponsorship team. Sponsorship provides each student with a work opportunity to earn money for their tuition, room, board and outreaches.

In the classroom, students study the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible is central to our ministry.

In addition to Bible instruction, students are given practical classes in business, financial management, and agriculture to provide them with tools to help them support themselves on the field.

Establishing indigenous communities of believers is the goal of our ministry.

Native ministers thoroughly trained in the Word of God are the best suited to carry this out. Therefore our students engage in weekly and quarterly outreaches throughout Malawi.

Through the equipping and sending of native ministers, we work toward the goal of seeing every person – regardless of race, social class, gender, ethnicity, orientation or background – having an opportunity to come in contact with the love and freedom that come from a relationship with Jesus Christ.

You can sponsor one of our students and make a lasting impact, not only in the student’s life, but also in the many others that the student will touch through their ministry and witness.
