Mbeya International Ministries, Sending light into spiritually dark places

Sending lights into spiritually dark places

Get involved

Around the throne, at the end of all time, people from every nation, people, tribe and language will be gathered in worship before the Lamb (Rev. 5:9).

Whatever our gift or calling, we can all be part of helping bring that vision to fulfillment.

We need help fulfilling our part in Malawi.

We need people who are called to pray, give, or serve.

If you are one of those people, there might be an opportunity for you to help.

1. Pray

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matt. 9:36)

Join us in praying for our students, our staff, our programs, the people of Zolozolo, and our ministry of sending lights into the dark places of Malawi to reach the lost with the love and knowledge of Christ.

If you would like to join our monthly prayer and intercession meeting (either in person or via Zoom), please send us a message with your email address.

If you would like to receive monthly prayer requests from our ministry, please send us a message.

2. Give

“These women were helping to support Jesus and the Twelve out of their own means.” (Luke 8:3)

An ear of corn? A fish? A homemade soccer ball? Whatever we have to give, in the hands of Jesus, it ends up being a blessing to someone.

As we get ready to build the Zolozolo Library & Youth Center and the Tekerro Retreat Center, there are going to be many opportunities for people whose gift and calling is to give.

Perhaps a church or home fellowship group will want to take on a project together, such as a prayer room in the library or a playground for children. If so, please contact us.

In addition to our upcoming building projects, all of our staff and students are supported fully by people in the U.S. who give generously and make it possible for us to provide jobs for them. If that is on your heart, you can sponsor a student or give directly to support one of our servants of God.

We trust that those who are the children of God are led by the Spirit of God and hear directly from God about when to give and how. We thank the Lord for all of our Spirit-led donors who give as the Spirit leads.

“How can anyone preach unless they are sent?” (Rom. 10:15)

3. Go

“Go into all the world…” (Mark 16:15)

While not everyone is called to go to the nations, some in fact are. If you are interested in serving with our ministry, there are going to be some upcoming options.

Our immediate need is for people who are gifted in construction (especially concrete and brick), and people who are willing to help with the grunt work of construction (carrying, mixing, pushing) to join alongside our Malawian team. If you would like to come down for a week or two to help us build, please contact us for more information.

In Zolozolo we are looking for people who are not afraid to sleep in the ghetto and who can help us with the library construction project, as well as helping with street ministry.

Please note that due to cross-cultural factors and harsh climate, certain conditions apply. An application, pastoral recommendation, and pre-trip training are required for anyone interested in serving with us.
