Mbeya International Ministries, Sending light into spiritually dark places

Sending lights into spiritually dark places

"Here I am; send me!"  Mbeya offers a discipleship program in Malawi in partnership with Navigators Malawi, a registered Malawian religious organization, at our campus in the northern region. People can enroll in either a one-year or two-year discipleship program. The programs are not accredited for higher education, so people who enroll do so purely for their own spiritual growth and personal ministry equipping. No school fees are collected, thereby making the program accessible to anyone who is interested and called, regardless of their economic background. Discipleship training consists of morning Bible study and afternoon outreach. Upon completion, students are better equipped to serve in the ministries to which they are called. Many students have gone on to become pastors, teachers, church planters, or have started ministries of their own.

"You are the light of the world."  The Zolozolo Bible Center was built in the middle of the Zolozolo township in 2019. Since then, it provides a full-time ministry presence for youths, children and the general community with various Bible-based programs throughout the week. It is overseen by volunteers who have a heart for the community and for the Lord. Many of the volunteers have gone through our one or two-year discipleship programs.

OUR MINISTRY

EDUCATION

EVANGELISM

DISCIPLESHIP

Mbeya invites anyone who feels called to serve in ministry to apply for our discipleship program where they can learn such subjects as Old and New Testament, Leadership, Pastoral Care & Counseling, Personal Finances, Practical Ministry, and Church Planting. While in the program, attendees learn how to begin building ministries of their own through relationship-building and evangelism. They then learn how to sustain and grow their ministries through long-term discipleship and pastoral care. They are exposed to a variety of teachers and pastors who volunteer their time from within Malawi and abroad.

 ZOLOZOLO

People in our discipleship program, whether current or former, can live and volunteer at the Zolozolo Bible Center, making it possible for there to be an ongoing spiritual presence in that community throughout the week.

Everyone who serves with Mbeya is either a volunteer or raises their own financial support. Therefore, gifts received are able to be used for ministry and programs. Furthermore, we do not rent office space or send out regular mailings, thus keeping overhead to a minimum and making it possible for even undesignated gifts to be used for ministry. We are grateful for the volunteers who donate their time and make it possible for us to use as many of our resources as possible for programs. Thank you for serving with us.
